Duke

 

Duke is a Clydesdale gelding born in 2003, and he has developed into a strong, solid sensible horse with a gift for people and especially children.  He is the star of our herd and has worked all over the local area as well as some in other towns.  He has pulled family groups for tours of Almonte, carried Hindu grooms to their beloved brides, and brides dressed in white to their weddings. He has done evening and daytime parades.   Duke is also our resident Destrier, showing his grace and beauty as a war horse for Medieval Cosplay.   He has even, on one notable occasion, pulled a lawn tractor out of a muddy ditch.........

At nineteen years of age, Duke is now retired from Carriage work but is still available for Therapeutic Visits, and Photography.  He is spending his days grazing and enjoying the ten acres we have dedicated to our horses, enjoying good quality hay and feed, and loving the company of our other horses, especially SuzyQ.
