Red Gate Gems produces necklaces and earrings from gemstone beads and metal findings, many of which are silver. Our collection of findings and stones has been curated over 20 years. Some items are no longer available, and some are hard to find. Items are planned ahead, sometimes for weeks.
Our pricing strategy is simple. We carry an affordable group, mostly of earrings. The prices are calculated by the cost of materials times two. This allows recovery of materials and labour costs.
Our better jewellery is priced as follows: Materials plus labour times two. Industry standard would be multiplying by four, not two. Pricing this way allows for marketing and show costs. The only money retained by us is the labour cost.
Shipping is extra and done through Canada Post and at their rates.
We have been criticized for our our pricing. We have been told we could create more of a cachet if we doubled our prices. But the truth is, we don't care about getting rich. We want you to have something beautiful no matter who you are.
We do not sell to the United States at this time. There can also be issues shipping from Canada to the EU due to EU customs requirements.
